Sherrlyn  > People > Sugar Guatemala
When I am not photographing weddings I am usually working on a story. I feel my mission in life is to help give a voice to those people who do not have power. Sugarcane workers in Guatemala suffer immensely. They are paid slave wages, and have very little rights. Someday I hope to go back and finish this story.

This boy's name is Perfect named after his father. Perfecto is 5 and has been working in the fields to help his family. It's a matter of having food for the day or not. Perfecto's lungs are most likely black from the cane and his eyes are swollen. I hope to go back someday in the near future to see how they are doing and document more of their lives. Some farms in the area have increased rights for workers.I only pray that someday Perfecto will also experience justice.
